Mangalbare (Ilam), June 17: The Division Cooperative Office, Ilam has initiated the process to dissolve as many as 75 cooperatives in Ilam and Panchthar districts.
The cooperatives are going to be annulled as they have remained inactive for a long time. As many as 45 cooperatives in Ilam and 30 in Panchthar were registered three years ago and they have remained inactive for a long time, the Division Coopratiove Office stated.
The cooperatives which have failed to report their financial transactions and activities to the Registrar's office on a regular basis are facing the annulment as per the Cooperatives Act, 2048 BS, said Madhav Prasad Pokharel, officer at the Division Cooperatives Office.
There are some 800 cooperatives running in the hilly districts Ilam, Panchthar, and Taplejung in the Mechi Zone. RSS
