Kathmandu, June 12: Dr. Tilak Rawal, central
member of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF)-Nepal, also the former governor
and economist, has joined the Nepali Congress.
Different
leaders and cadres of the MJF-Nepal also joined the NC along with Rawal.
At
a programme organised at the residence of President of Nepali Congress, Sushil
Koirala, at Maharajgunj, today, Koirala welcomed them and provided party
membership.
Dr.
Rawal joined the NC after meeting President Koirala, Central Member Deep Kumar
Upadhyay, spokesperson, Dilendra Badu, and Bardiya NC president, Sanjay Gautam,
it is learnt.
On
the occasion, Koirala said that rights of the people of all sectors, classes
and all walks of life would be secure in democracy and added that there would
be respect of all in NC as a democratic party.
He
said welfare of people and overall economic development of the country was only
possible in democracy.
The
NC President also assured of giving rightful responsibility to those who joined
NC.
Similarly,
Rawal said that he was never far from NC and added that he did not want any
harm of NC even if he was not in NC due to various reasons.
Rawal
said he joined the NC without putting forth any precondition, but expressed the
view that his position should be honourable in the party. RSS
