Dadeldhura, June 19: More than 50 families of inner Terai of Dadeldhura district have been displaced by floods triggered by incessant rainfall.
The floods in Mahakali river and Ragun river have displaced 50 families so far. The displaced have been compelled to take shelter at their relatives' houses.
The floods also swept away hundreds of bighas of fertile land in the inner Terai. The rains have hit hard normal life in the district. It has also affected transport services in the rural areas, media as well as other sectors.
According to the District Natural Disaster Relief Committee, people of those places, which are at high risk of floods and landslides, have been informed to be on high alert.
The Committee has already made all kinds of preparations to fight disasters in the district, said the committee. RSS
