Sankhuwasabha, June 16: Normal life in Sankhuwasabha have been hit hard by the indefinite shutdown enforced since the past four days.
Calling general strike across the district, the five fringe political parties including CPN-Maoist, Matrika-led CPN (Maoist), Federal Limbuwan, Federal Socialist Party and Peoples' Liberation Party warned that they would continue the shutdown till their demands were met.
They have alleged that the State was not responsive to their demands that include stoppage of transfer of employees from the District Hospital, Khandbari.
The indefinite district-wide shutdown came to put on pressure to fulfill required quotas of doctors and form a fair committee to investigate into embezzlement occurred in the District Hospital.
It is reported that schools and colleges, transport, markets, factories and enterprises have been affected in the area due to shutdown.
The shutdown has badly affected recently SLC-passed students, who were supposed to to go outside the district for enrollment in different Plus Two colleges, said said Roshan Dahal, an SLC graduate.
Though the general strike has crippled the normal life in the district no initiation has been so far taken to sort out the problem, complained locals. RSS
