Biratnagar, June 19: Lightning struck the Salt Trading Corporation zonal office here this morning, causing millions of rupees of damage.
Office chief Nabin Chandra Jha said the thunderbolt hit the office toilet, sparking a fire that destroyed the electric wiring, telephones, ceiling fans, computer, laptops and other electronic devices in the office.
He said some workers and staff working at the salt store at the facility at the time of the lightning sustained minor injuries. Jha's wife has also suffered burn injuries in the fire sparked by lightning.
Jha said that the damage caused by lightning is being assessed and he has already informed the Corporation's Central Office about the incident. RSS
