Damak, June 25: The people's embankment drive being implemented for the control of Kankai River in Jhapa district and Rasuwa-Mawa River is gradually gaining roots.
The Embankment Field Office Number 1, Gainde, Jhapa said that all preparation required for the prevention of possible flood-triggered erosion this year have been completed.
According to senior engineer at the office and Embankment Programme Chief Ramesh Basnet, various measures including placing wire net, spur and makeshift dam along the river banks have been adopted as part of the embankment programme.
