Surkhet, June 10: Police have rescued 42
children, who were being taken to India after tempting them of employment, and
handed over to the District Child Welfare Committee and the District Police
Office, Salyan.
A
large number of children from Kupindedaha, Nigalchuli and Manjhkada of Salyan
and Purandhara of Dang, who were being taken to India, were handed over to
police and Children Welfare Committee, Salyan, under the initiative of the
District Children Welfare Committee, Surkhet.
Child
Rights Officer at the District Children Welfare Committee, Surkhet, Rama
Bhandari, said that the District Police Office and the District Children
Welfare Committee, Salyan, have taken responsibility of the children on Sunday
night. The children were sent from
Surkhet on Sunday.
The
rescued children will be handed over to their families, said Bhandari.
Police
had taken the children along with the agents under control from Chhinchu of
Surkhet on Friday night.
Among
the children, 18 are boys and the remaining are girls and all of them are under
the age of 18, said police.
Police
have started investigation by arresting agents Suresh Roka Magar and Tek Roka
Magar of Salyan.
Police
said that the children will be handed over to their families from today. RSS
