Police thrash two journalists in Biratnagar

Biratnagar, June 10: Two journalists were injured due to thrashing by Nepal Police and employees of Biratnagar Sub-Metropolitan City today.
            Journalist duo Bramhadev Yadav and Kaushal Niraula, who had gone to collect news of a picketing programme at Birtanagar Sub-Metropolitan City organised by Indigenous, Dalit, Backward Class Coordination Committee, Biratnagar, today, were injured after police thrashed them.
            The victim journalist duo said that police and employees of the Sub-Metropolis thrashed agitators and journalists while the committee was chanting slogans picketing the Sub-Metropolis from 9:30 am to 12 noon by putting forth 13-point demands.
            Yadav and Niroula have bruises on their bodies.
            Yadav is correspondent of Popular FM, Inaruwa, Sunsari and Nepali Patra, Kathmandu, and Niraula is working at Tarai Television and Makalu FM, Biratnagar.
The journalists have been taken to local hospital for treatment.

            Different organizations have condemned the inhumane behavior of police and employees of the Sub-Metropolitan City and demanded action against the guilty. RSS
