Preparation to shift over 25 families of Bapsa to another place

Solukhumbu, June 23: Preparation is underway to shift to another place more than 25 families of Bapsa of Baku VDC of Solukhumbu district, which are at high risk of landslides for the past two decades.

Chief District Officer Sitaram Karki informed this at a meeting of the District Natural Disaster Management Committee held on Saturday evening.

More than 30 families of Bapsa have been already shifted to another places after being displaced by landslides and 25 families are still at the risk of landslides.

The District Administration Office has formed a four-member committee under the leadership of Tularaj Sunuwar, Project Officer and Administrative Officer of the District Development Committee, to exchange information soon in case of disaster in the district, to carryout rescue and to provide relief in the district.
The meeting was chaired by Karki where representatives of district-based political parties, chiefs and representatives of government offices and NGOs were present. RSS
