He added that he was looking forward to undergo thorough check-up at the University of Tokyo Hospital as the medical experts in Nepal advised him to have further consultations abroad.

Describing Nepal-Japan relations as excellent  and mutually cooperative, the President lauded the achievements of the Nepali diaspora in Japan.

He urged the Nepali community to do their best to further enhance bilateral relations, enrich people-to-people relations and promote investments and transfer of technology from Japan to Nepal, the Nepalese Embassy stated in a press release.

According to the Nepalese Embassy in Japan, Prof. Toshiaki Watanabe of the Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine and Vice-Director of the University of Tokyo Hospital is supervising the team of specialists who would  look after the President.

The President and his entourage landed at Narita International Airport at 620 hrs on Japan time on Tuesday by the scheduled flight of Thai International from Bangkok. He was heartily welcomed by Ambassador Madan Kumar Bhattarai, all officials at the Nepalese Embassy in Japan and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Members of the Nepali community along with the representatives of various organizations based in Japan including the President of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association Japan Chapter, Om Gurung, were also present on the occasion.

For the purpose of the members of the Nepalese community in Japan who want to extend best wishes and greetings to their Head of State, the Embassy of Nepal has kept a Visitors' Book at the Embassy during office hours from today. RSS
