Parasi (Nawalparasi), June 13: The only hydro power project in the district is not able to generate electricity in full capacity for some years.
Though the hydropower project has a capacity of generating 15 megawatt power, it has been generating only four megawatt power daily as two out of the three turbines are dysfunctional, said Narayan Jaisi, chief at the power house.
It has been many years since the turbines became dysfunctional and they have not been repaired since.
The power house was constructed with financial assistance of the Government of India and was handed over to Nepal in 2036 BS according to the Gandak Agreement. RSS
