Hetauda, June 14: Family Planning Association Nepal (FPAN), Makawanpur chapter on Thursday provided scholarship to the daughters of women who are vulnerable due to poor economic status.
The association has provided educational materials and school uniform to some 47 girls. The girl students from families with poor economic status are provided with the scholarship to encourage them in their studies, said Hemanta Kumar Shrestha, chief at the FPAN, Makawanpur branch.
As many as 137 women are at risk due to poverty in the area. Among them, 75 are returned from circus, 24 rescued from being trafficked and 38 are returned from Gulf countries, according to the statistics of the office.
