Summer paddy production up in Tanahun

Tanahun, July 1: The production of summer paddy is expected to increase by as much as seven per cent in Tanahun district this year as compared to the previous year.

The total output of summer paddy in the district last year was 11,895 metric tonnes and the output has been increasing at the rate of three metric tonnes per year, the District Agricultural Development Office stated.

The office said that the total yield of summer paddy is expected to increase this year thanks to favourable weather, adequate rainfall and no disease and pest infestation.
Summer paddy is cultivated on four thousand hectares of land in the district this year. Last year, the crop was cultivated on 3 thousand 906 hectares. This is the harvest time for summer paddy. RSS
