Babiyachaur (Myagdi), June 30: A suspension bridge has been constructed over the Myagdi River at Singa Tatopani in the district. The bridge that links Tatopani Bazzar to Thamdanda Swata will benefit locals of Myagdi and Baglung district.
The 103-meter-long bridge, constructed at the total cost of Rs. 2.8 million, has come in to operation from Saturday.
According to the District Development Office, the Decentralized Rural Infrastructure and Livelihood Improvement Project had provided Rs. 2.14 million while Suspension Bridge Area Programme had donated Rs. 450,915.
Similalry, other sources included Rs. 97,044 from DDC, Rs.68, 833 from Singa VDC and Rs. 53,400 from the users committee.
Likewise, Green Agro Road from Begkhola to Deurali is constructed as a model road in the district. Some 1,800 saplings have been planted on both sides of six-metre-long road.
The saplings plantation bid is to prevent possible landslide and soil erosion, said VDC secretary Chitra Nath Sharma. The road was constructed along the sloppy land through fast track so that saplings were planted as a precautionary measure to stop possible disaster, said the stakeholders.
It is learnt that six million rupees has been spent for the construction of the road. RSS
