Three arrested with IRs 2.9 million fake currency notes

Birgunj, June 25: Police here arrested three persons with fake Indian currency notes worth IRs. 2.96 million and started an investigations into the case.

Those arrested are Mithilesh Tiwari of Bhediyari VDC, who is currently living in Tejarath of Birgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-16, Ranjeet Jha of Birgunj Municipality-15, and Rameshwor Sahathi of Vhishwa, Parsa district.

They were apprehended while they were heading to India from Kathmandu through Birgunj carrying the fake Indian currency notes, according to District Police Office, Parsa.

Police arrested the group following a tip off that they were carrying the fake Indian currency notes of IRs 500 and IRs 1,000 denominations by hiding inside a piano and a cot, said Pitambar Adhikari, Superintendent of Police at Parsa.
The amount is reported to be sent from Kathmandu through DHL's courier. RSS
