Workshop on Child Labour Exploitation Concludes

Dhankuta, June 30: Various stakeholders have voiced complaint over the increasing child labour exploitation in the district.

The children shared such grievances at a workshop on eliminating exploitation against child labourers organized by Dhankuta Municipilty on Sarurday.

Representatives of different government, non-governmental offices, child clubs, child labourers, child rights activists had participated in the event.
Child labour exploitation is on the rise and that they are deprived of basic child rights in the district, said Laxmi Bishankhe, President of Tribeni Child Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Dambar Rogu, administrative officer at the municipality, Khagedra Subedi, officer at the District Administration Office Kamal Bahadur Karki, child rights activist had suggested measures to lessen child labour exploitation.

The workshop has decided to collect information to know the real situation of child labour exploitation. The workshop has further decided to launch campaigns against child labour exploitation in coming days, said Bijay Santoshi Rai, a member of  the District Child Welfare Committee. RSS
