Kathmandu, July 1: The Nepal Education Council has decided to present this year's Adikavi Bhanubhakta Puraskar (award) to senior litterateur Madhav Lal Karmacharya.
A meeting of the Council held under the chair of Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire selected litterateur Karmacharya for the award.
The Council has decided to honour Karmacharya in recognition of his special contributions to the promotion of Nepali literature for the past seven decades. The award will be presented on July 13, the birth anniversary of the pioneer poet Bhanubhakta.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to honour Achyut Raman Adhikari with Gopal Pandey Ashim Puraskar for his remarkable contribution to the development of Nepali language. The award will be presented on August 16.
Both awards are annual and are being presented since 2052 BS and 2050 BS, respectively. RSS
