Pokhara, July 3: Chairman of CPN-Maoist, Mohan Baiddya, has said the second Constituent Assembly (CA) election scheduled to be held in November 19 was not in the interest of the country and people.
Talking to the journalists at a press conference organized by the party here today after the completion of the extended meeting of his party, Baiddya said that the extended meeting was unanimously for boycotting the CA election.
He claimed that his party concluded to boycott the election after seeing no possibility to write a constitution through the second CA election scheduled to be held on November 19.
The extended meeting of the CPN-Maoist concluded that 11-point agreement, amendment of 25 clauses of the Interim Constitution 2007 through the Ordinance on removing difficulties by the President were guided by the four-party 'syndicate' and that they were undemocratic, unconstitutional, and wrong, said Chairman Baiddya.
Baiddya stressed on the need of resolving current political impasse through a roundtable conference among the political parties and other stakeholders.
The CPN-Maoist Chairman expressed his protest against the ongoing election process, which he said was forwarded ignoring his party's demand to constitute the unity government from within the political parties.
Responding to media persons' query, Baiddya refuted any possibility of unification of his party with the Unified CPN (Maoist). RSS
