Chitwan has 28 children's homes

Chitwan, July 24: There are 28 children's homes in operation in Chitwan district taking custody of 867 underprivileged children.

According to the Women and Children's Office, Chitewan, the largest number of children taking shelter are at the Hope House Children's Home at Jagatpur. There are 235 children at the house. Similarly, the Sahara Children's Home, Bharatpur has the lowest number of children. There are only five children here.

It is stated that two among the children's homes in the district are in the process of registration. The Office has also classified the children's homes in the district and has been providing facilities accordingly.

As per the classification, one children's home is in category A, two in category B, eight in category C and the remaining in category D.

Meanwhile, the operators of the children's homes and stakeholders on Tuesday held an interaction regarding the relief and protection of the helpless children in the district.

Participants of the interaction formed a none-member network of the children's homes operators in the district under the convenorship of Bholanath Poudel of the SOS Children's Village, Chitwan. RSS
