Khotang, July 2: The statistical details of around 40, 000 people of Khotang district have been collected in a bid to identify poor households.
The Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation and Khotang District Development Committee have jointly collected various data about local people. The data collection bid was launched on May 11 and concluded on July 1, said Hari Prasad Gurain, DDC Planning Officer.
In course of data collection, Dipsung VDC was found having least households i.e. 168 while Diktel VDC was found with the highest number of households i.e. 1504.
Some 80 trained enumerators and 20 supervisors have been deputed in 76 VDCs of the district for collecting data, said the District Development Committee sources.
The bid to identify poor households has been launched for the first time in the district to reach out the state-sponsored services and entitlements to grassroots level.
The identity cards will be distributed classifying the general public into three categories – extreme, moderate and poor – based on the data collected, he added. RSS
