Disabled raise voice for entitlements

Okhaldhunga, July 9: Disabled people here have voiced their complaint for not getting allowance, which they are entitled to.

They came up with complaints stating the District Development Committee has not provided them with monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 since the government has made this arrangement for all disabled people having red identity cards.

It is learnt that as many as 396 people with different forms of disability have been deprived of their entitlement. The District Development Committee has been providing such allowance only to 98 physically-challenged people saying the government has not sent adequate budget for the purpose.

Local Development Officer Radha Krishna Shrestha admitted that they were unable to provide with allowance to all due to budget deficit. RSS
