Ilam, July 4: A wild elephant was found dead at Erautar-8, Bahuban in the district last night. The tusker was found dead near the house of local Brihaspati Khatiwada.
Three calves that were with the elephant were driven away by the Armed Police Force (APF) soldiers from the incident site, said a local teacher Din Raj Niraula.
The group of tuskers had spread panic in the village and destroyed property near the border area of ILam and Jhapa districts last night.
Veterinary doctors have been called for carrying out an autopsy of the dead pachyderm, it is learnt. RSS
