Biratnagar, July 1: Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) Chairman Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has said the party will give candidacy for the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) elections from all the 75 districts.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Television Journalists' Group here today, Gachchhadar who is also the coordinator of the High-Level Political Committee ( HLPC) said positive participation of one and all was essential to make the election successful since it was the means for guaranteeing people's rights and institutionalizing democracy.
The former Deputy Prime Minister said role of civil society and media persons was significant to convince the dissenting 33 political parties to take part in the election. The CPN-Maoist warning to go for people's revolt was just to deceive the people, he added.
Responding to a query of journalists, leader Gachchhadar said the Chief Election Commissioner has proposed for holding the local bodies' election in April next year. The incumbent government was constituted just for conducting the CA election, he said and urged one and all not to doubt that the election will not be held.
The provision of 'One Madhes one province' was not suitable in Nepal due to its topography, he said, adding rather there might be Tharuhat in the west of Chitwan and Madhes state in the east of Parsa district. Group's Chairman Mohan Manandhar chaired the meeting. RSS
