Baglung, July 24: A healthy child competition was organized with an objective of encouraging parents to be more responsible towards their children's health.
The people from different corners of the district have brought their children below three years to participate in the competition organized by Baglung Jaycees, said Chairman of the organizing committee, Diwakar Shakya.
As many as 40 children had participated in the competition and that one-year-old, Bibas Pun son of Rupa Pun from Damek VDC Ward No. 9 was declared first while Manyata Kandel, daughter of Gita Kandel from Lekhani VDC-9 secured second, and eight-month-old, Dipsan Ruchal, son of Uma Ruchal from Kalika Municipality, Baglung Bazaar got third position in the completion.
Dr. Nita Maharjan of Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital, Jiwan Shakya, District Public Health Officer at District Public Health Office, and Satya Shrestha of Dhaulagiri Technical Education Foundation had examined the health of the children participating in the competition.
"We have made the criteria for declaring the healthy child examining their cleanliness, respiratory system, chest, lungs, whether they have taken regular vaccines, and their conduct," said Shakya.
The children participating in the competition will be feted and awarded with prizes on the concluding ceremony of Jaycees Week. RSS
