killing 18 militants in Afghanistan

SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Afghan security forces backed by the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) raided a Taliban hideout in northern Jauzjan province early Sunday, killing 18 militants and injuring a dozen of others, deputy provincial governor Abdul Rahman Mahmoudi said.
 
   "The national security force backed by ISAF air force pounded a hideout of Taliban rebels in Faizabad district in the wee hours of Sunday, killing 18 rebels including two senior commanders and wounding 12 others," Mahmoudi told Xinhua.There were no casualties on the security forces, he added.
