Khotang, July 10: A drug store of an Assistant Health Worker has been sealed after the complaint that two children died in Khotang due to negligence of the Assistant Health Worker.
Police sealed the store of medicines under the direction of the District Administration Office after the relatives of the deceased filed petition against Assistant Health Worker at the Sub-Health Post Gagandev Saha demanding action and compensation saying the children died due to his negligence.
Chief District Officer, Deepakraj Nepal, said that responsibility has been given to a team comprising of two health workers of the District Health Office to carry out the investigation into matters including expiry date of the medicines.
The probe-team would present a report of the sealed medicines to the District Administration Office (DAO). According to the DAO, now the drug store of Saha has been locked out.
One-and-half year old Pabitra Chaulagain, daughter of Bhagatlal Chaulagain of Mattim-9 and Babin Chahara, 14, son of Ratna Kumari Chahara of Mattim-8 died in an interval of three weeks, and Krishna Rai, 7, son of Shantakala Rai of Mattim-9 became disabled due to the negligence of Saha, said victims.
Pabitra died on June 28 and Chahara on June 9. Saha, however, said that they have labeled a false accusation against him with an intention of transferring him. RSS
