One member one cooperative policy draft proposed

Kathmandu, July 5: National Planning Commission has proposed one member one cooperative policy in the draft 13th three-year plan.The policy is expected to address unhealthy competition seen in the cooperatives sector.

It also plans to encourage merger among the cooperatives for the cost benefit sharing and strong management.There are around 2,600 cooperatives with more than four million members, which employ more than 50,000 people. RSS
