Birgunj, July 2: Patients have been bearing the brunt of weak management in the sub-regional hospital at Birta, Birgunj.
The Narayani Sub-regional Hospital in Birgunj has not provided treatment services to patients suffering heart and lungs related ailments in absence of doctors.
Likewise, patients approaching the hospital for treatment are also facing tough time due to no adequate number of doctors available in important wards.
The hospital development committee has arranged quotas for appointing cardiac specialists. Though cardiac specialist Dr Birendra Pradhan is available in the hospital, there is lack of specialists doctors to look after kidney and lungs related cases.
The hospital management had claimed that the sub-regional hospital will set a model in medical health science after fulfilling the vacant posts of specialist doctors for lungs and kidney, it has yet to be seen in practice.
Local people have complained that the lungs and kidney patients of the area have been compelled to go to Chitwan or Kathmandu for treatment. RSS
