Kathmandu, July 9: CPN-Maoist Secretary Dev Gurung has said that his party was ready to sit for talks with the condition of holding the Constituent Assembly (CA) election.
At a discussion programme on 'Decisions of Pokhara Meeting of CPN-Maoist and Upcoming CA Election' held at Martin Chautari, a research institution here, Gurung said that the four parties have urged his party to sit for talks except with the condition of toppling the current government and postponing the November 19 CA election.
"The 25-point order issued by the President to clear the constitutional obstacles is constitutional and should be corrected," Gurung reiterated the CPN-Maoist's condition for holding the talks.
"An all powerful and sovereign CA should be formed to write the constitution. There is no relevance of the CA dancing to the tune of foreigners for post, power and money," Gurung said. RSS
