Rukum, July 4: A modern solid waste management and processing centre is to be constructed at Panakhola in Khalanga VDC award No. 9 for the proper disposal of the solid waste generated in the headquarters of Rukum district.
The solid waste processing centre is to be constructed at a cost of approximately 20 million rupees. One Kali Bahadur Khadka of Khalanga-9 has donated a 3.5 ropanis plot worth 300 thousand rupees for the construction of the centre.
Local Development Officer Bharat Kumar Sharma said the construction of the modern dumping site would be started soon now that the land for the same was available.
Solid waste generated in Khalanga Bazaar, Salle, Serigaon, Bagbazaar and adjoining areas would be dumped and processed at the centre after its construction. The government is undertaking the construction which is expected to complete in two years. RSS
