Teachers in Humla to disrupt classes to protest curtailment of allowance

Humla, July 10:  Teachers associated with different teachers' organizations have announced school closures from Thursday saying that the allowances for 45-day-long local winter vacation were curtailed.

Local teachers' organizations are forced to stage protests after the teachers' allowances were curtailed, said Amber Bahadur Shahi, Chairman of Humla Teachers' Association.

Similarly, Harsha Bhandari, Chairman of All Nepal Teachers' Association, Humla, stressed on the need of providing the facilities as per the government's policy directions.

Meanwhile, District Education Officer, Kul Prasad Phadera has said the District Education Office has already written to the Department of Education, and Ministry of Education regarding the demands of the teachers. He also appealed to all schools and teachers to continue the classes. RSS
