Ratnanagar (Chitwan), July 11: Different Village Development Committees (VDCs) in Chitwan district are declaring themselves as fully literate VDCs one after the other, projecting themselves as role models.
The district boasts of the first, second and third illiteracy-free VDCs of the country. The Fulbari, Gitanagar and Shivanagar VDCs are the VDCs in the district to be first declared as fully literate VDCs.
The latest addition to this list is Sharadanagar VDC in the west of Chitwan, which is to be declared as the fourth fully literate VDC of the country amidst a function here today.
Literacy campaign is moved ahead vigorously in Chitwan in line with the government's plan of achieving full literacy in the country by 2015. As per the latest census, the literacy in Chitwan district is 77 per cent. RSS
