Janakpurdham, July 2: A three-day theatre festival aimed at promoting the development of Maithi theatre and preserving the near-extinct dramatic art is to be held in Janakpur from July 4.
Theatre in Maithili and Nepali language would be presented at the festival to be organized by the Nepal Music and Theatre Academy.
Speaking at a press conference organized here today, academician Ramesh Ranjan said eight groups are taking part in the festival including the Mithila Theatre Art Council, Gurukul Arohan, Biratnagar, Birat Maithili Natya Parisar, Youth Network for Peace, Krorahat Theatre Group and Ramanak Youth Club.
