Bbaiyachaur (Myagdi), July 10: The mountainous district of Myagdi boasts of 272 ponds and lakes.
This is stated in a report of a study commissioned by the District Development Committee last year. The objective of the study was to identify, count and prepare maps of the ponds and lakes in the district, according to Local Development Officer, Bishnu Prasad Sharma.
The study carried out by a technical team identified 272 ponds and lakes throughout the district, Sharma said. Among these lakes and ponds, 100 are naturally-occurring and the rest man-made ones.
