Flights halted at Khanidanda Airport

Khotang, Aug. 7: Air services to and from the Manamaya Rai Khanidanda Airport here have halted since the past one month after the runway became muddy and full of potholes following  incessant rains/

The people have been hit with the disruption of flights since the first week of July.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Khotang office here has stated that the airport will remain closed until the month of Asoj (mid-October) for carrying out repair and maintenance works and also for black topping the runway.

Among the three airports in the district, the Khanidanda Airport is the nearest airport from the district headquarters, Diktel. The hardest hit due to the closure of flights have been the sick and elderly, it is stated. RSS
