Kathmandu,
Aug. 4: A Nepali Haiku Centre has been established under the chairmanship of
Prof. Ram Kumar Pande.
The
centre was established with an objective of promoting Haiku literature at a
time when it is becoming famous in Nepal of late. Japan is the place of origin
of Haiku literature.
An
11-member working committee of the centre was formed at a programme organised
in Lalitpur on Saturday.
Dr.
Bam Bahadur Jitali and Engineer Lal Bahadur Bhujel are Vice-Chairmen of the
Committee and Prakash Poudel (Maila) and Pramod Pradhan are Secretaries.
Similarly,
Sushma Manandhar and Mukunda Acharya are Joint-Secretary and Treasurer of the
Committee, respectively.
Mitra
Bandhu Poudel, Surendra Astaphal, Shreehari Phunyal and Basudev Guragain are
members of the Committee. Number of Haiku writers is on rise in the country of
late.
Chairman
Pande said that the centre would publish Haiku related creations and organise
regular programmes related to this as well as would carry out research on it.On
the occasion, seven poets had recited their Haiku poems. RSS
